Selection for the 2016 Aspen Grove Challenge at The Little Course at Conner Lane will once again be based on the player’s adjusted scoring average. Being that Micro Division course set-up is vastly different from Par 3 courses to regulation golf courses, we are continuing to tweak the numbers in order to establish the most fair system. Please read the following information carefully to get a full understanding of how the system will function.
Many of the courses being played in the Micro Division are Par 3 courses and not rated by the Tennessee Golf Association. Due to this fact, the ratings for the Micro courses will largely be based on yardage. As indicated in the policies section, there are specific hole yardages that we will be using during Micro Division events. On most Par 3 courses the players will be playing the course as is, but on the regulation courses the yardages for each hole will be adjusted to fall within our policies.
Selection for the Aspen Grove Challenge will be based on a player’s adjusted scoring average. Since these events are only nine holes, each course will only have a nine hole rating. The courses will be divided into tiers of difficulty with each tier carrying a different weight. The more difficult the course (higher rating) the more weight a score from that course carries. The following is the tier structure for the 2016 Micro Division:
As stated above, each tier has a different weight and its weight is shown in its multiplier. The following are the multipliers for each tier in every Micro Division:
To determine a player’s adjusted score, first find the tournament course name on the linked chart below. Once you find the tournament course, the course rating will be located under the division you are competing in (the course ratings in these charts are preliminary and will be finalized when the Junior Tour Staff set-up the golf course on the tournament day). Compare the tournament course rating with the chart above and determine which tier that course rating falls under. Take that tier number and go the multiplier chart to determine which multiplier to use. Finally, multiply your tournament score by the multiplier and you will generate your adjusted score.

A player must play in at LEAST FOUR (4) tournament rounds to be eligible to compete in the 2016 Aspen Grove Challenge. At the end of the season, the player’s TOP THREE (3) adjusted scores will be averaged to determine their season scoring average. Based on those adjusted scoring averages, a percentage of players from each division will be selected to attend the Aspen Grove Challenge. The number of invitees from each division will not be determined until the middle of the season once we have an accurate account of how many members are in each division.
** If a tie for a last spot in a particular division occurs, the player with the lowest adjusted round will be given the spot. If there is still a tie, the next lowest adjusted round will be used, and so on. If a tie cannot be broken final spots will be determined by lot.**
